Nets lose second straight game in blowout fashion, 114-98

When Jason Kidd was head coach of the Nets and suggested they sign Shaun Livingston. When Livingston made his big comeback with the Nets, Kidd kept it very simple as to why he liked him from the start: “You can’t teach length.” And that haunted the Nets on Saturday night. Rodions Kurucs put home a layup with 4:59 left in the first quarter, and the Nets went more than seven minutes without a field goal, including 11 misses during that span. The Jazz went on a 29-4 extended run and led by as many as 20 in the first half. Rudy Gobert and his 7’9” wingspan changed the entire …

They now advance to the first round of the women’s tournament, and face the top seeded University of Connecticut team Saturday.

Nets barely escape ugly battle in Atlanta, 114-112

It wasn’t pretty. In fact it was near torturous, but they got it done with a final score of 114-112, Saturday night in Atlanta. The Nets shot 38 percent from the floor and missed 21 free throws in one of the most important games of the season. But the only thing that matters is that they got the win and are .001 behind the Pistons for the sixth seed in the NBA East. That’s one-thousandths of a point. This is how it ended. With 16 seconds left, Joe Harris hit one-of-two free throws and gave the Nets a two-point lead. It was Brooklyn’s 21st miss of the night on 54 attempts — the most they’ve attempted in over 10 years …
