After losing on a last second layup against the Blue Coats on Thursday, Long Island lost their third straight game in a 134-130 double overtime thriller Saturday against the Westchester Knicks at the Westchester County Center. The ending of the second OT was not without controversy. After a frantic sequence with the Nets trying to connect on a three to tie the game, Nets two-way Alan Williams picked up a technical foul arguing a call down low. After the technical free throw, Knicks extended their lead to four, the winning margin. Leaky roof ends G League game in Erie with Nets ahead by one

With 9:40 left in Saturday’s game between the Long Island Nets and Erie Bayhawks, a leaky roof at the Erie Insurance Arena led to a rare G League suspension. Long Island led Erie, 88-87, at the time of the decision to suspend the game. NYFEST 2016 Soccer Tournament at Brooklyn Bridge Park Saturday

All day this Saturday, April 16, NYFEST 2016, a charity soccer tournament, will take place on Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 5. The action starts at 8:00 a.m. when the first round of the Industry tournaments kicks off; these continue until 6:00 p.m. A Youth Soccer Showcase goes from 9:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. Starting at 1:00 p.m. there will be a “Heroes” exhibition game pitting the FDNY against the NYPD.
