Brule Laker has added a photo to the pool: The 450-foot Squibb Park Bridge, a pedestrian shortcut from Brooklyn Heights to Brooklyn Bridge Park, was designed to mimic the light, airy trail bridges found in state parks, bouncing slightly underfoot. After its opening in the spring of 2013, the structure’s bounce went from slight to conspicuous, with the bridge also swaying from side to side. It closed abruptly in Aug. 2014 and remained closed for 32 months, nearly twice the amount of time it was open, After $2.5 million in repairs for a bridge that originally cost $4.1 million, the bridge reopened in Apr. 2017.
