The Huron Debuts Residences on Prime Waterfront in Greenpoint

September 16, 2022

Today Quadrum Global, a global real estate development and investment firm celebrated for the Arlo Hotels, officially unveils The Huron, an iconic two-tower condominium development located at 29 Huron Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by the esteemed Morris Adjmi Architects (MA), The Huron features 171 refined studio to four-bedroom for-sale residences with stunning views of New York City and more than 23,000 square feet of private outdoor space among 67 residences. Sales and marketing will be led by SERHANT. New Development, Ryan Serhant’s multidimensional brokerage built for the marketplace of tomorrow. Residences come to market this Fall and occupancy is slated for late 2023.

Situated directly on the Greenpoint waterfront with unparalleled access to the expanded and connected waterfront promenade, The Huron is highly-anticipated. It comprises two contemporary 13-story towers connected by a brick base which contains a wealth of amenities totaling over 30,000 square feet. The two-tower massing maximizes permanent waterfront and skyline views of New York City, the East River, Brooklyn, and Queens and creates more corner residences and intimate floor plates. There is an 8,000-square-foot private park and playground above a brick podium base on the second level, coined the Treehouse Playground due to its elevation and a nod to its design. Two rooftops on the West Tower and the East Tower will offer some of the most enviable private outdoor amenity spaces in the New York City region with lounge furniture, commercial caliber BBQs, and a sprawling passive lawn ideal for picnics and sunsets.

MA designed The Huron with its signature thoughtful engagement with history, distinct interpretation of industrial forms, and creative expression of materials. The H-shaped two-tower configuration, with its long, linear connected lobby, is reminiscent of a ship with two smoke stacks. A brick podium conveys the textures of the neighborhood, while the gridded façade is an expression of the craft that once anchored Greenpoint. Oversize industrial grid windows, manufactured in Germany and assembled in Italy, maximize direct waterfront views and abundant sunlight in each home.

“We’re very excited to unveil MA’s first project in Greenpoint – one of Brooklyn’s most beloved neighborhoods,” says Morris Adjmi, founder and principal of Morris Adjmi Architects. “Inside and out, the building’s design was inspired by the waterfront neighborhood’s history of maritime industry and manufacturing, as well as its current community of local artists and designers who carry on craftsmanship traditions.”

The Huron’s timeless interiors feature palettes and details which juxtapose industrial details and sophisticated design elements. Residences boast ceiling heights of 9’5” and up, with most in excess of 10’ and some as high as 14’8”. Wide-plank European engineered oak hardwood floors and a best-in-class VRF climate control system demonstrate unprecedented attention to detail.

Kitchens pair honed Italian Dolit marble with imported washed walnut wood cabinetry and Miele appliances. Select residences feature an inset marble waterfall island and wine refrigerators.

The primary bathroom connects imported honed natural stone tile with a custom white Caesarstone vanity top and refined matte black hardware. The secondary bathroom unites the industrial feel of blackened hardware and accent gunmetal fixtures with the delicate touch of graphic white marble and deep blue textured tiles.

“Brooklyn has been one of the top performing real estate markets in the world and Greenpoint feels like the soul of Brooklyn. Greenpoint is steeped in history and ever-evolving,” says Jared White, Senior Vice President of Quadrum Global. “The Huron honors that history and evolution, with forms that are referential to its industrial past and function for today’s lifestyles.”

The Huron offers curated amenities that one would expect to find in development many times the size, totaling over 30,000 square feet across multiple levels. The standout, jaw-dropping 50 ft indoor saltwater pool overlooks the East River and Manhattan skyline. Additional amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with Peloton® Bikes, a Movement studio with full-length mirrors, a ballet bar, and TV, and men’s and women’s locker rooms with saunas. There will be a Resident Lounge with a pool table, fireplace, and TV, a Dining Room complemented with a cozy fireplace and a catering pantry for entertaining, and a beautiful co-working area with pods, integrated booth seating, TV, and conference table.

The sophisticated spaces were designed by MA with hand-glazed tiles, marble mosaic and terrazzo flooring, and white oak paired with stripped-down elements such as blackened patinated metal. Furniture and materials in the amenities spaces were locally sourced by an array of Brooklyn artisans.

On the second level is the elevated private park, featuring passive and active recreation for children, the Explorer’s Room, a children’s playroom, stocked with KiwiCo® crates and kid’s furniture, and the Nook, a casual hangout outfitted with table games, state-of-the-art TV, and comfy seating.

“Greenpoint has emerged into one of the most coveted Brooklyn neighborhoods with an eclectic mix of legendary restaurants, interesting shops and galleries, a waterfront promenade and so much more,” said Jennifer Alese, head of SERHANT. New Development. “The Huron addresses surging demand for oversize waterfront residences with ample outdoor space, abundant amenities, and full services.”

The Huron will offer a 24-hour concierge in a dramatic arrival lobby with a desk made of pink Onyx countertop and woven leather, ample storage including a package room with refrigerated, bike storage, and additional storage space. There is an attended parking garage on-site and a pet wash.

Greenpoint is situated on the northernmost point in Brooklyn, north of Williamsburg and south of Long Island City. The neighborhood is home to artists, restaurants, shops, and culture that keeps New York exciting. The Huron is approximately 25 minutes to Midtown Manhattan. The Greenpoint Ferry stop and the G train are minutes away.

Additional details on the residences at The Huron, including an incomparable Penthouse collection, are available by request and appointment only. Contact thehuron@serhant.com or visit: www.thehuron.com to inquire.
