CBS Local reports that “Mayor Bill de Blasio and officials” have announced the long awaited plan for the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. The plan would shrink the highway from three to two lanes in each direction, which is projected to reduce traffic volume by eleven percent. Resurfacing and waterproofing of the cantilever structure would make it safe for another twenty years. Opinion: It might be time for a clean break
Many people know of Shakespeare’s “Friends, Romans, Countrymen” speech, but not as many know its third through fifth lines: “The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones; So let it be with Caesar.” A lot of bones have been interred this year in New York City, cremated and buried in private graveyards and our potter’s field. (How odd we seem to have an island for everything.) It seems to me that the shame of working for Mayor Bill de Blasio — surely not …

Opinion: The double standards of our Democrats
In recent weeks, we have seen the clear hypocrisy of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio. King Cuomo has continued his war on our small businesses that are trying to stay afloat with this pandemic. On July 30, the governor proudly announced more violations that his state Liquor Authority issued to bars and restaurants for violating his edicts related to the novel coronavirus. We must remember that many of these businesses are owned by our neighbors and friends. They have done all they can to survive this ordeal. At first, they were ordered to close. Eventually…

(AP) — The thousands of people protesting the death of George Floyd have a “civic duty” to be tested for the coronavirus and help New York avoid a spike in new cases as it slowly restarts its economy, Gov.
